Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year.

Halloween brings out the ghouls and goblins, creatures, and strange folk. They come creeping about the neighborhood seeking favors over trickery.

Medical Assistants Recognition Day 🩺 Is October 21st

Medical assistants are health professionals who support the work of physicians and other health professionals, usually in a clinic setting. Their responsibilities can include both administrative and clinical duties.  Depending on the type and size of the facility, what state, certifications available and the laws affected by where they work, medical assistants can play a variety of roles.  

DOCTORS ARE SAYING TO GET A FLU SHOT THIS YEAR💉

While there's a high demand for flu shots every year, B.C. pharmacists say the demand will be much higher heading into the fall.

With heightened awareness of respiratory illnesses because of COVID-19 and 2 million doses of publicly funded flu vaccines available in B.C. this year, the British Columbia Pharmacy Association expects there to be a higher demand for flu shots.

ECE Students Create Art to Show Understanding of Reconciliation 🧡

Karen, one of our ECE instructors said, "My students and I wanted to share that today, we learned all about the importance of Orange Shirt Day and how we can be supportive allies to the parents and children from the Indigenous culture. We had a lot of tears and secret sharing moments for tonight's class."

Orange Shirt Day (September 30th) is about honouring the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada.
