Vancouver Career College has recognized three outstanding Accounting and Payroll Administrator (APA) students for high marks on their national certification program exams.
Jacel Anne Agcaoili, Ranka Ignjatic, and Judy Villawarayen – all students from the Surrey campus – were presented with academic excellence awards in early June.
“The hard work and dedication of these students has enabled them to excel on their exams,” says their instructor, Joe Peter. “They met the high expectations we set for students in the APA program, and we are proud of their academic achievements.”
To give APA students a competitive edge in the job market, Vancouver Career College provides them with the support they need to complete the Canadian Payroll Association’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification program.
The three students said they were happy with their Canadian Payroll Association exam results, and credited the training they received in the APA diploma program. Peter says the students all scored higher than 98% on the recent exams.
“The training I received helped me a lot to bring the best out of me,” Villawarayen says. “My instructor was an amazing person and knowledgeable, and would go out of his way to answer our questions and make sure we understood.”
Accounting and payroll practitioners play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of wages by Canadian employers. The APA diploma program at Vancouver Career College provides students with the job-ready training they need to succeed in their new careers.
In less than a year, students gain a practical foundation in accounting and payroll, while also developing valuable office administration and computer software skills. A five-week practicum enables students to put what they’ve learned to use in a real-world setting.
