February 12, 2015 from 5:30-7pm at the Coquitlam
Campus
Coquitlam, BC – February 10, 2015 – The legal industry is
challenging, intense, and definitely rewarding. Lorleen Langhorn, a graduate
and valedictorian of Vancouver Career College’s
Legal Administrative Assistant
program, can vouch
for that.
As a
full-time student who was working part-time in a legal office, Langhorn made it
work because of her committed personality, a passion for justice, and the
support and feedback she received from instructors. “School was not easy by any
means,” she said. “I leave with the greatest feeling of accomplishment and
pride.” Langhorn hopes that her experience at Vancouver Career College and Yearwood
& Company – where she completed her practicum and is currently employed –
will be the beginning of a new path that will eventually lead to law school.
As many
can imagine, working in a legal environment is not simply another day in the
office. Working with several multi-deadline cases can seem hectic and stressful
but “you have to remember these files are people’s lives” and “they are of the
upmost importance to the people they are impacting.”
When it
comes to the legal industry, any mistake can not only cost you but your clients
as well, which is why acquiring a distinguished education is pertinent to
entering this field. From family to criminal law and general legal office
procedures to litigation procedures, Vancouver Career College’s
Legal Administrative Assistant program
covers it all. Through a combination of classroom learning and on-the-job
training, the
diploma program helps students build a solid
foundation in the fundamentals of law as well as provide opportunities to enhance
their skills through practicum placements.
