Vancouver Career College to host Provincial Open House on August 21, 2014
Vancouver, BC – August 18, 2014 – With a number of sectors in BC witnessing growth over the last 12 months, the need for well trained professionals continues to increase. From business and finance to healthcare and social services, the employment outlook is expected to be above average to excellent. Vancouver Career College is hosting a Provincial Open House on Thursday, August 21, 2014 to show prospective students how they can get the help they need to get started in some of BC’s hottest sectors.
With construction booming across the province once again, the demand for tradespeople, including electricians, has skyrocketed. BC’s healthcare sector needs a range of well-trained professionals including licensed practical nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacy assistants and medical office personnel to keep up with retirements and increased demand for services. Even the business, financial and legal sectors continue to recruit employees with backgrounds in business administration, legal assisting, accounting and payroll.
“With the growth we’ve seen in the last year and the number of older workers getting set to retire, a number of companies are in search of their ideal candidates,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “At Vancouver Career College, students get the hands-on training they need to confidently step into the careers of their dreams, whether they’re training for careers in healthcare, trades, business or early childhood education.”
At the Open House, guests will learn how Vancouver Career College develops programs based on the input of industry experts so students develop the essential skill sets that employers demand. Combining classroom learning with hands-on training and practical experience, programs are taught by industry experienced instructors, preparing graduates to be ready to start their careers quickly.
Vancouver Career College’s Open House takes place on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm at campuses in Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, Abbotsford and Kelowna. Check-in time is 5:30pm.
In addition to helping attendees explore their career options, Vancouver Career College will offer them a chance to qualify for a $1,000 scholarship to use toward tuition. One scholarship will be awarded per campus, allowing the recipient to get started on the path to the career of their dreams.
