Vancouver Career College to host province-wide Open House on May 8, 2014
Vancouver, BC – April 30, 2014 – Vancouver Career College wants to make it easier to choose a career path this spring. The college’s province-wide Open House on May 8, 2014 will highlight some of BC’s hottest career paths and explain how prospective students can be ready for new careers as quickly as possible.
According to the BC Labour Market Outlook, 78 percent of the province’s job openings in the coming years will require post-secondary education and training. While the healthcare sector will witness the most growth, the business, finance, sales, service and trades sectors can also expect openings from expansion and the need to replace retiring workers.
At the Open House, guests will learn how Vancouver Career College develops programs based on the input of industry experts so students develop the essential skill sets that employers demand. Combining classroom learning with hands-on training and practical experience, programs are taught by industry-experienced instructors, preparing graduates to be ready to enter their chosen careers with confidence.
“BC is expected to see a flood of job openings by 2020 and two-thirds of them will require some form of training,” said Larry Heinzlmeier, VP of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “Our programs are designed to help students acquire the skill sets that employers look for, whether it’s in healthcare, business, early childhood education, art and design, skilled trades or the legal field.”
