Two sessions explore working with special needs children on October 26, 2013
Coquitlam, BC – October 22, 2013 – Vancouver Career College will hold two workshops for Early Childhood Education professionals on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Coquitlam. With morning and afternoon sessions, these workshops are perfect for anyone looking to expand their ECE knowledge and gain a better understanding about caring for children with special needs.
The day starts off with a sign language workshop at 10:00am. This two-hour session will cover an introduction to sign language, including an opportunity to learn some songs to use on the job. Check-in time is 9:50am.
The afternoon workshop will explore what it’s like to have a disability. Using an interactive approach, attendees will gain insight into understanding and working with special needs children. The three-hour session will start promptly at 1:00pm. Check in at 12:50pm.
The workshops are open to current ECE professionals and those interested in training for an ECE career in BC. Both sessions are eligible as professional development hours toward ECE license renewal with the Early Childhood Educator Registry of BC. Admission to each session is $10. Graduates of Vancouver Career College’s Early Childhood Education may attend free of charge. RSVP today.
