Drop new and used toys off at Coquitlam campus until June 14, 2013
Coquitlam, BC – May 8, 2013 – In preparation for Children’s Awareness Month in June, staff and students at Vancouver Career College’s
Coquitlam campus kicked off a
toy drive on May 1, 2013 to support local children and families in need. Over the next several weeks, the campus hopes to collect as many new and used toys as possible and donate them to
SHARE Family and Community Services Society.
“Vancouver Career College staff and students are committed to making a difference in their community,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “The toy drive is a great way to recognize Children’s Awareness Month and support the great work done by SHARE Family and Community Services Society.”
A non-profit, independent community organization, SHARE provides leadership and programs in response to the social needs of residents in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra, New Westminster and adjacent communities. Along with programs for adults and seniors, the organization offers several services for children and youth, including a parent-tot drop in, after school programs, community and school-based prevention services, and programs for youth with special needs.
In addition to the toy drive, the campus will host other events to raise money and toys for SHARE, including a car wash on May 25th and an art workshop for parents of toddlers in June. Guests are asked to bring along new or used toys to be donated to SHARE.
The Vancouver Career College toy drive
runs until June 14, 2013 at the
Coquitlam campus, 1180 Pinetree Way. Donations can be dropped off with reception during open hours.
