New training opportunities for students in Abbotsford with launch of IT programs
Abbotsford, BC – January 8, 2013 – Job postings for network and database administrators, technical support and other information technology positions seem ever more plentiful. As the world’s need for IT workers grows, Vancouver Career College has introduced three new programs at its Abbotsford campus designed to prepare students for careers in the IT field.
“Vancouver Career College is dedicated to helping our students prepare for successful, enjoyable, real-world careers,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing at Vancouver Career College. “The information and communication technology industry’s growth is unprecedented. Companies are advertising more and more jobs for well-trained IT professionals. Because of this, we’re excited to offer three new technology programs that provide our students with in-the-field experience and knowledge to fully prepare them for a career in IT.”
The three technology programs,
Network Systems Engineer,
Network Systems Administrator and
Network and Database Administrator, can be completed in 45 to 60 weeks. Each program offers industry-specific courses such as Windows server administration, and managing and maintaining PCs. Additionally, students will develop career and employment strategies and gain experience with a hands-on practicum to help boost job prospects after graduation.
On top of their technology diploma, grads will be prepared to write industry-standard exams for Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft. With help from the college’s career services professionals, grads will not only have job-ready skills, they will also have the job-search skills necessary to connect with the right employers.
