The Fraser Valley is a unique blend of northern countryside and bustling city life, making it a prime place for students who want the best of both worlds. Thankfully, students can expect to have fun-filled weekends jam-packed with a diverse range of events throughout their time enrolled in the programs at Vancouver Career College in Abbotsford.

While students may be busy attending class, catching up on reading assignments and meeting their peers for group projects during the week, weekends are a great time to unwind and find an activity that differs from their typical school routine. For students attending the Abbotsford campus, here are some fun and affordable events that take place almost every weekend this fall season.

Abbotsford Flea Market
Open nearly every Sunday of the year, the city flea market is Abbotsford's largest artisan market, bringing together community members of all ages and visitors who are curious to see what kind of treasures they can find. With coffee and refreshments, the sale keeps guests energized while they shop for all kinds of vintage items, from collectibles and antiques to clothing, books and electronics. Looking for an old-fashioned radio to add some character to the living room? The Abbotsford Flea Market is exactly the kind of place that features these one-of-a-kind items that give any home the personality it needs.

More than 200 indoor tables and about 75 outside vendors means patrons can browse for hours - and they stay open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving early bird shoppers a chance to scoop up the best items before the late starters make their way over to the Abbotsford Exhibition Grounds.

Abbotsford Farm & Country Market
Another fun activity proves that Abbotsford is bustling all weekend long. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Montrose Avenue comes alive with the farmers market, where dozens of unique sellers unite in one central space to show off their tastiest produce, baked goods and specialty items to all of the guests who visit each week.

Students should make sure to arrive early to this event, as these vendors often sell out of their weekly supplies. Visitors can find handmade pottery, organic home products, decorative accessories and of course, food at this one-stop shop. It is a great destination for those who might have a loved one's birthday coming up, and are yearning to find a memorable, one-of-a-kind gift for that special someone.

Those who wish train for a new career in Abbotsford can enroll in a range of programs such as Medical Office Assistant - Advanced Practice, Practical Nursing or Pharmacy Assistant at Vancouver Career College. For more information, fill out the form on the right.
