Training opportunities in Burnaby, Abbotsford or Kelowna

Burnaby, BC – November 27, 2012 – Vancouver Career College is currently accepting applications for its 75-week Practical Nursing program. In just a year and a half, the program prepares students to write their licensure exam and find work in the growing healthcare field.

The specialized training in healthcare at Vancouver Career College not only prepares Practical Nursing students for a career helping people, it also propels them to the top of their profession. In September 2012, 100% of the Practical Nursing graduates from Burnaby and Kelowna passed the Canadian Practical Nursing Registration Examination (CPRNE) exam. The national pass rate average is 88%. This not only shows the calibre of students graduating from the program but also how the program itself translates into superior skills and knowledge.

“My training at Vancouver Career College changed my life by making me more aware of the needs of a lot of people out there,” says Karen Gammon, Vancouver Career College Practical Nursing grad. “There is a huge demand for practical nurses, especially in long term care.”

The Practical Nursing program at Vancouver Career College gives students the opportunity to develop critical nursing skills like professional communication, health promotion and pharmacology. This training prepares them for job opportunities in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home care and public schools. As part of the program, students also participate in multiple clinical placements and a preceptorship, where they work with patients under the supervision of nursing professionals.

“Careers in healthcare, particularly in nursing, are some of the most in-demand,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing at Vancouver Career College. “At Vancouver Career College, we’re expanding our opportunities to help students become high-calibre, knowledgeable and accountable LPNs. Our program prepares students not just for successful, fulfilling careers but also to make a difference in the community, and to their patients.”

Vancouver Career College is now accepting applications for the Practical Nursing program at its Abbotsford, Burnaby and Kelowna campuses. For more information, fill out the form to your right.
