Those who live in Vancouver are fully aware that there is much to do in the city. Each weekend, there are a number of events that could appeal to young professionals or college students in the Lower Mainland. This fall, students can wrap up the week by attending a broad range of events, including the Baker's Market and the Richmond Night Market.
Baker's Market
Those who love pastries and baked goods can treat themselves to a trip to the Baker's Market after a long week of studying. Fortunately for Vancouver students, Baker's Market takes place from October to December every Saturday at the Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre. Professionals and aspiring bakers sell a diverse variety of goods, including buttery croissants, brownies, muffins, bundt cakes and even soft German pretzels. Those who have particular allergies or strict diet regulations can also have their sweet tooth satisfied when they attend, because a number of bakers specialize in gluten-free treats and vegan pastries such as cupcakes and muffins.
Some of the best vendors to expect at the weekly baker's market are J'adore Les Macarons, Just Taste and Muy Yum Bakery.
Richmond Night Market
This popular event situated has drawn thousands of British Columbia residents for years with its diverse attractions and exciting activities that appeal to visitors of all ages. About 88 food booths, 200 merchant vendors and live entertainment every weekend, the market brings community members out to the streets until the late hours of the evening. This year's theme, "Return of the Dragon," showcases the success that business owners throughout Vancouver have accomplished in fostering a thriving multicultural community and a tight-knit atmosphere.
This year's new market location, just one block away from the Bridgeport SkyTrain Station, has allowed more space for carnival rides and family-friendly entertainment to take place all weekend long.
Students who might need a brief break from studying can unwind and have some fun at the Night Market. Unfortunately, though, the Richmond Night Market wraps up for the year on the first weekend of October.
