At Vancouver Career College, social responsibility is part of our mission. Our goal is to support our students and the communities in which they live through a variety of charitable donations, community-led fundraisers, and partnerships. Community-focused events allow students to become more engaged in the classroom and help them develop community outreach skills.
Vancouver Career College campuses participate in a number of community and charitable events including, but not limited to Pink Shirt Day, Orange Shirt Day, and local food drives.
The first-ever Orange Shirt Day event in September 2019 was a huge success! Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses had representatives from more than 20 local bands and elder and residential survivor - Beatrice Silver - also spoke about her personal experiences and completed a book signing.
In 2019, Vancouver Career College collectively raised nearly $7,000 through fundraising and charitable work in the community. Over the past five years, Vancouver Career College has collectively raised nearly $12,000 in monetary donations and over 3,400 items for local food banks.
